I think the drums are clashing or over-compressed, but other than that its really cool!

Love the vibe! The "weird" section isn't even weird, it's my favourite part of the track because it develops the progression and makes it more unique! Good job!

Good idea, but poorly mixed. Those risers (like the one at 0:01 and every time they repeat) are too loud and is really problematic as the track progresses because it causes a lot of clash with your other sounds and mud in the low end. Those white noise (impacts? idk) like at 0:30 are too loud as well. Also make sure to highpass your chord synths, they are creating some mud in the low end. The kick at the drop (1:44) is distorting a lot. I think the entire track is clipping or over compressed, make sure that the track doesn't go over 0dB!

This is just a test.

Great! My only criticism is that I think sometimes the white noise/rain sound can be too loud (like 0:38), and some hihats are too harsh in the high end (like 0:51). Everything else is good though, the composition and sound design is beautiful, and it's well-mixed overall in my opinion. Keep up the good work!

SpockAndStep responds:

thank you for the feedback man! unfortunately, the drums were only one loop so I was limited as to what I could do as far as mixing goes with the drums and hi-hats (they were all on the same loop)

Could be better a lot in my opinion. I think something wrong happened with the impact at 0:20? A lot of mud in the bass at 0:22-0:40. The kick really clashes with the bass, the kick is barely audible. I would suggest sidechaining other sounds to the kick and slightly bring out the high end of the kick with eq to give it more punch. The snare could also be brought out more a bit. The guitars sound great but they are too loud. You can also use a highpass eq for the guitars to get rid of some of the mud. The silence and abrupt change in tempo at 1:38 doesn't sound right. The composition also sounds really generic and the progression stays the same throughout the entire track. Silence is good sometimes but too many sudden pauses make the listener lost and it ruins the pace of the track sometimes. I believe with a lot of practice you can improve a lot though! Don't give up!

Thank you, really appreciate comments like these that actually give feedback. I made this track in about 2 hours. I have a tendency to release a track too soon for fear I may never finish it haha. I've been making music on here for 11 years yet I still don't really know how to do much of the advanced stuff. I'm self taught with most everything I know. Comments like these are very much appreciated. Thank you.

Beautiful composition! I can feel the tension and the "need to let go" in this music. This is amazing, good luck in NGUAC!

potato-stick responds:

Thank you!

I love it! It could feel a little generic but I don't mind. Good luck in NGUAC!

Ahurac responds:

Thank you! I'll try my best to sound more unique in the second drop when I'll finish it :)
